    As a middle-level manager, I would be aghast if my boss allowed someone to go around me and get their acceptance on such a request without even first letting me know about it.

    I’d immediately request a one-on-one meeting with my boss and discy what my role was, what my authority was, and why this end-around happened.

    Hopefully I would hear that this was all a mistake or misunderstanding. But if I found that I actually had no real authority and that this sort of thing would continue to happen, I’d re-evaluate my role and decide if it was still a role that I wanted to fill or not.

As you say in your comment, the real experts are just too busy – you’re all he’s got. Thus, don’t assume that you are performing below expectations, because you’re not expected to have mastered the technology.

    Your boss might also think that the best way for you to master the technology is to dive head-first into it. A lot of people don’t realize that other people think differently, and learn differently! It’s up to you to let your boss know that you think a different way would be more effective.

    Under CRM system, there are many employees from lower hierarchical level to higher, and their duties are different just as their positions. So if we are speaking of it as a whole, that what duties it has for the business they belong to, then there are a few points we can talk on.
    Starting with its duty to know customer satisfaction is basic and essential and then moving to not so basic duties then we have analysis of data to be done, to stay relevant.
    They have the responsibility of building and maintaining profitable relationships with key customers and resolving customer complaints quickly and efficiently. They should also keep customers updated on the latest products in order to increase sales.

If you have already decided to break them and lose the perquisites then I would just tell you to stick to your decision although I would suggest you to analyse well on whether you are doing your optimal job or not and whether or not your handcuffs are actually golden. Once you make your decision to break them, carry it forward. Change your company, get a pay cut and adjust your budget. Work on different things which might get you an extra income and invest well to manage your bank balance.

If you’re not showing useful metrics then it doesn’t matter how you arrange them. Also, dashboards need hierarchy to be easy to scan. Use size and position to give emphasize the most important information and to downplay metrics that need to be looked at less frequently. You shall focus on what makes it attractive, positioning the information on your dashboard logically is essential. Grouping related metrics next to each other makes them easy to find. Make sure your labels are self explanatory, and unambiguous for your viewers. Also, you should try and keep them as short as possible to avoid cluttering up your board and getting in the way of the data.
