CTO is an individual who examines the short- and long-term needs of an organization and utilizes capital to make investments designed to help the organization reach its objectives. A CTO is the highest technology executive position within a company who develops policies and procedures and uses technology to enhance good and services that focus on external targeted customers. He oversees the current technology and creates relevant policy within an organization. In a small team, CTO usually is the lead manager and developer who also does most of the coding. Larger companies have enough workforce so that CTO mostly does vital planning decisions and give project updates.The CTO should play a significant part in attracting, identifying and recruiting talented and motivated developers into the organization. He is responsible to serve the company and owns fiduciary responsibility to help the investors and the board of directors to feel comfortable about the technical strength of the company.
