Leadership can be referred to as a process of inspiring, motivating and influencing people to achieve a shared set of objectives.
Leadership plays a vital role in organizations. Be it leadership at the senior most level or at the team level. Some reasons why leadership is important:
1. Keeps employees motivated: Effective leadership inspires and motivates employees to work towards the common goal to be achieved. Motivation can be provided in the form of cash or kind to the employees.
2. Keeps everyone focused: Employees work towards achieving the vision set out by their organizations senior leadership. It is this vision that keeps them focused and on track.
3. Helps in conflict management: A leader helps to keep the team in co-ordination and harmony. Any conflicts that exist within the team can be resolved with the help of team leader.
