Following are some differences between job enrichment and job enlargement:
1. Job enrichment is a motivational tool which increases the decision making power and job related authority of the employee and job enlargement is increasing the number of tasks an employee performs in a job.
2. Job enrichment is considered to be a management tool whereas job enlargement is a job design technique.
3. The purpose of job enrichment is motivate the employee and make their job more challenging. Job enlargement is mainly done to break monotony in the job process.
4. Level of responsibility increases in job enrichment and remains the same in job enlargement.
5. Job enrichment requires employee to be skilled when compared to job enlargement.
