Word association is a association technique which aims at providing a word or a list of words which act as stimulus to the respondent to determine how these words are stored in memory. For each word that is provided, respondent is expected to tell the first word that comes to mind on hearing the presented word.
Word association can be used to determine what are the words that people associate with certain products or brands.
This can be used while preparing a promotion or advertisement campaign.
