1 Answer

  1. An accredited or sophisticated investor is an investor with a special status under financial securities and regulation laws. It is a person or business entity or institution who is allowed to deal, trade and invest in financial securities as long as they satisfy one or more requirements regarding income, net worth, asset size, governance status or professional experience, for the purpose of purchasing securities that are not offered to the general public. Hence, Accredited investors are typically high-net-worth individuals and companies with the means and experience to trade private or riskier investments.
